More Go-Fast Stuff Coming...
FRPP "Hot Rod" camshafts and valvetrain goodies will arrive on my bench sometime in late January, 2009. My good friend Scott has offered to help with the install, and is possibly the only person on the planet besides myself that I trust implicitly with my car. In fact, he is one of only three people including myself that has ever even driven the thing.

Arriving with the cams will be several other parts related to the install, as well as some minor under-hood mods, such as gas hood struts so I can get rid of that ridiculous hood prop rod (death bar).

Look out, Phill... because after the cams are installed, I am taking it to Matt's (Mustang Muscle) for a dyno tune at which time I will install the dry "hundred shot."

Wheels and Tires!!!
I hope to start posting on a regular basis now that I have made some time for working on my own sites once again, and throw in the fact that the weather is crap.

Well, the wife did the absolutely unthinkable… she bought wheels and tires for the car for me for Christmas!!!!!!!! Are you friggin' kidding me??? I think I'll keep her…;) I will post up some new pics as soon as the UPS guy delivers the new skins in the next week or so.

I also got lucky and found a quickie, quality small parts painting connection… my nephew-in-law (sounds kind of Jerry Springer-like, but it's true), is a body shop manager at a local Ford dealer, and was at the house with the whole family for Christmas eve. We were out in the garage BS'ing about the car and he offered to shoot my 3D Carbon quarter window covers for me… he is a helluva nice guy, even without the offer to spray the parts. I should be able to pick those up sometime this coming week.

More rants soon…

More Progress…
Well, the gauges are installed and working, and the pod looks just sick! The new Stage 8 header bolts are installed and locked tightly in place, and shouldn't move at all. Next I am starting to fabricate some kind of mount for the new tach that doesn't require drilling through my dash cover. I'll keep adding pics as things get finished. Jim

I just added 6 more pics to the Wicked Stangs site. The fuel door and grilles are up now... decents shots.

The Mustang has Officially Been Named...
My youngest daughter Amy, decided that the Windveil Blue GT should be called "Sally." After the hit song "Mustang Sally" written and first recorded in 1965 by Mack Rice. It gained greater popularity when it was covered by Wilson Pickett the following year.

According to music historian Tom Shannon, the song started as a joke when Della Reese's band leader wanted a new Ford Mustang. Rice called the early version "Mustang Mama," but changed the title after Aretha Franklin suggested "Mustang Sally."

Rice's version made it to #15 on the U.S. R&B charts. Pickett's version made it to #23 in 1966.

Mod List Update… Told Ya I wasn't Really Done…
Well I know it's been quite awhile since I dumped anything here, but life has been getting the best of me. Kids, work, home, blah, blah, blah. I have had some limited time to work on the Mustang over these past few cold-ass months, though. I've added an A-pillar pod from SOS that is just killer, with EQUUS oil pressure and water temp gauges. I changed the stock fuel door to a cool, machined billet piece, and I added the billeted and polished grille overlays. I am currently awaiting deliveries from Glowshift, for an oil filter sandwich so I can connect the oil pressure gauge, and a package from Summit Racing for some good, locking header bolts and new header gaskets. This should keep me busy this Friday night… as long as it isn't 13 degrees like it is right now.

Scarey moment leaving work tonight...
I get in the Mustang, start it up and I hear... main bearings!?!? WTF??? Main bearing noise at 11,700 miles? Ford got a call this morning.
